Events and Activities:

During the course of the year the Black Writers Museum presents an array of community activity, including partnerships, sponsorships, and community and corporate collaborations. All of these activities are geared toward community engagement and include:

  • Poetry readings
  • Book signings
  • Community based events
  • School based activity
  • Institutional partnerships
  • Traveling exhibits, and our signature event,
  • The People’s Poetry & Jazz Festival 

Youth:

Engaging and impacting youth is a core principle of the BWM. Our exhibits, activities and programming are geared to providing an enlightening experience for youth from diverse backgrounds and cultures. From poetry readings, cultural arts festivals and intergenerational opportunities, youth are at the forefront of the BWM mission.
